
Free Scholarship Online Research is carried out in a creative and international environment, carried out from the current 17 persons from 6 countries. We work in the major national and international projects, including the European Union FP7 funded projects (tank, OPTIMA VISION Cloud) in close collaboration with leading industry partners (eg IBM, SAP and Atos Origin) and academics. The software has various efforts of the open source community, including NorduGrid / ARC and the Globus Toolkit, the latter contributed as a member of the Academic Partner globe. The group is also a member of the Working Group on Service Oriented Infrastructure NESSI.
The Free Scholarship Online research is in collaboration with the High Performance Computing Center North (HPC2N) and the Research Laboratory conducted Umeå University UMIT. HPC2N is a key member of the Swedish National Infrastructure for Computing (SNIC), providing expertise and resources, including resources of the network. HPC2N active Swegrid, NDGF, NorduGrid and EGEE. UMIT is an environment for interdisciplinary research in science, high performance, distributed, real-time and visual computing, and industrial applications.
The stipends Free Scholarship Online are aimed for post-doctoral research, to be performed jointly with senior researchers and PhD students in the group, as well as with our collaboration partners. Coordination tasks within large-scale projects may also be included. The post-doc fellowships are for two years and come with competitive stipends.
Free Scholarship Online Applicants should have earned a PhD in computer science or a related field relevant for the position, preferably not more than three years old. Research topics of interest span from distributed systems fundamentals to cloud and grid computing infrastructures, virtualization technology, and their academic and industrial applications, including, e.g., eScience applications. Industrial experience is also considered highly valuable. Excellent communication skills in written and spoken English are required.
